Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies signs significant Integrated Engine Solutions contract with Onur Air

July 10, 2012, Abu Dhabi: At Farnborough Airshow, Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT), the Middle East’s largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services provider and part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, signed its first Integrated Engine Solutions (IES) contract with Onur Air, the largest private airline company in Turkey.

The agreement covers Onur Air’s fleet of V2500 engines and accounts for one restoration shop visit for each engine, with an option to extend the term until the end of 2021. It encompasses comprehensive on and off wing support, including spare engine support, engine health monitoring, fleet management assistance and access to on-wing ‘rapid response teams’.

This launches a fully integrated engine support service on the V2500 engine type from ADAT in advance of it becoming fully capable of B3 level overhaul, which is currently scheduled for the third quarter of 2012. ADAT has been contracted by International Aero Engines AG (IAE) as an MRO shop for the performance of overhaul work on IAE Fleet Hour Agreement’s including Etihad’s fleet of V2500 engines. ADAT and IAE signed that agreement in January 2011 that provides ADAT the support to establish the capability and the mechanism for IAE to send work to ADAT.

James Stewart, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, commented: “Today’s announcement represents yet another milestone for ADAT, following the announcement of agreements with flydubai and Ethiopian Airlines, and illustrates how we are expanding capabilities and achieving growth across the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network. I am delighted that Onur Air has chosen us to provide IES services and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Mr. Ahmet Karaman, VP Technical, Onur Air commented: “Building on an already established working relationship with ADAT on GE CF6-80C2 overhaul and repair, a new contractual arrangement has been finalized whereby ADAT is providing an IES solution for the IAE V2500 engine. This comprehensive arrangement will support us as we build on our position as the largest private airline company in Turkey. We look forward to continuing an already long and successful partnership."
