Aer Lingus: CFO and Directorate Change

Chief Financial Officer and Directorate Change Dublin & London, 25 March 2014: Aer Lingus Group plc (“Aer Lingus” or the “Group”) announces that Andrew Macfarlane, the Group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has informed the Board that he will step down from his position as CFO and Executive Director to take up a new role in the Middle East outside of the aviation industry. The Board will now commence a process to recruit a new CFO. Andrew will remain in his current role of CFO and Executive Director for up to 6 months to facilitate the transition to a new CFO. A further announcement will be issued in due course regarding the date on which Andrew will leave the Group.
Andrew Macfarlane was appointed as interim CFO in December 2009 and as the Group’s CFO and an
Executive Director in October, 2010.

He has been a key member of the management team that, over the last 5 years, has transformed Aer Lingus into a strong, profitable airline with a resilient business model and an improved cost base. While we are disappointed that Andrew has decided to step down, we understand his desire to seek a new challenge and wish him well in his new role.”

Andrew Macfarlane added: “I have enjoyed my time at Aer Lingus very much and am proud of what we have achieved over the past five years. Aer Lingus is a substantially stronger business today with a proven, experienced management team, a strong balance sheet and attractive prospects. I wish the Aer Lingus team well for the future.”
