Dublin & London, 7 August 2013: Aer Lingus Group plc (“Aer Lingus”), today announced traffic statistics for the month of July 2013.
.Total flown passenger numbers, including Aer Lingus Regional operations, increased by 2.9% to 1,141,000 in July 2013 compared to July 2012.
Short haul flown passengers, including Aer Lingus Regional, in July 2013 were 1,025,000, an increase of 1.5% on July 2012, while long haul flown passengers in July 2013 were 116,000, an increase of 17.2% on July 2012.
Aer Lingus mainline’s flown passenger load factor in July 2013 increased by 1.3 points on July 2012 to 87.9%. Short haul flown load factor was 85.9%, an increase of 0.8 points on July 2012, with capacity decreasing by 2.6%. Long haul flown load factor was 91.4%, an increase of 1.5 points on July 2012, with capacity increasing by 15.9% on prior year.
As noted in our 2013 first half results, which were issued on 31 July 2013, bookings for the remainder of the year at 30 June 2013 were ahead of prior year with Q3 long haul looking particularly positive. However, this booking profile has somewhat eroded over July due to the good weather.
