Aer Lingus Group plc has announced its traffic statistics for August 2014.
· The total number of passengers carried during the month, including Aer Lingus Regional, was 1.205 million, up 7% compared to August 2013.
· Short haul traffic increased by 3.3% to 913,000 passengers, up from 884,000 in the same month last year.
· The increase in Aer Lingus transatlantic passengers continued during August with 148,000 long haul passengers representing an increase of 22.3% from 121,000 in 2013.
· The overall passenger load factor for the month was up 1.2 percentage points to 87.8%.
· The short haul passenger load factor increased to 83.5% from 82.1% in August 2013, whilst the long haul load factor was 94.1% compared to 94.9% in August the previous year.
