Aerolineas Argentinas and the Chilean Sky Airline, today announced the signing and implementation of a new codeshare agreement in the Southern Cone.

For sales, the agreement will be effective as of today, while for flights the agreement will be effective as of 1st. May 2015.

Both companies will jointly market all flights between Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile, thus providing new travel options between both cities, with up to 8 daily departures in total. Passengers may opt for flights to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery or Ezeiza Airport, since the agreement covers operations at both airports to and from the trans-Andean capital.

Moreover, the commercial agreement will allow Aerolineas Argentinas passengers access to eight cities of the interior of Chile with quick and convenient connections in Santiago, Concepción, Temuco, Puerto Montt, La Serena, Copiapo, Calama, Antofagasta and Iquique.

Likewise, Sky Airline passengers will be able to access to nine cities in the interior of our country via Buenos Aires Iguazú, Córdoba, Rosario, Salta, Bariloche, Neuquén, Trelew, El Calafate and Ushuaia.

“This new alliance with Sky Airline will strengthen further the continuous growth Aerolíneas Argentinas is experiencing in the region and will allow our passengers new travel options to more destinations to and from Chile” pointed out Mariano Recalde, Chairman of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

For his part, Holger Paulmann, CEO of Sky Airline said “this is an important alliance that will allow us to provide a better service to our passengers, increasing competition through more flights and connections that will directly benefit customers in Chile and Argentina”.

Aerolíneas Argentinas is member of SkyTeam and flies to 24 international destinations and 36 cities throughout Argentina. The codeshare agreement with Sky Airline is the ninth implemented by the flag airline with its strategic partners, which include Air France, KLM, Air Europa, Korean Air and Gol.
Sky Airline currently has codeshare with Avianca and Air Europa.
