AEROLINEAS STAR PERU EXPANDS FURTHER WITH ADDITIONAL 
BAE 146-200 FROM BAE SYSTEMS

Hatfield, Hertfordshire….Fast-growing Aerolineas Star Peru has acquired a further BAe 146-200 from BAE Systems, bringing its fleet of the type to nine aircraft. This latest aircraft was delivered at the end of January.

Based in the capital Lima, Star Peru was founded in 1997 as a charter operator providing air services into remote jungle airstrips to support oil exploration companies.

The airline commenced scheduled airline services in late 2004. It now has a fleet of two 77/78 seat BAe 146-100s, four 88-seat Series 200s and two 112-seat Series 300s that is used on a growing domestic network that embraces services from Lima to 15 destinations and now accounts for some 14 per cent of the Peruvian market.

The airline also started international services to Rio Branco in Brazil in September 2010.
