Agreement between Aerolineas and Sol Lineas Aereas expands commercial air connectivity in the country

Aerolíneas Argentinas and Sol Líneas Aéreas agreed to implement codeshare flights with the objective of expanding air connectivity in the country.

The agreement provides that SOL Líneas Aéreas will complement the Aerolineas Argentinas route network with aircraft with lower passenger capacity, expanding the domestic market connectivity and developing new routes with a federal perspective, especially in smaller markets or in those that have still no air connectivity.

Aerolíneas, in its role as flag carrier, and as provider of the essential public service of air transport of passengers, cargo and mail, will keep its network of domestic operations but will complement this with SOL Líneas Aéreas in order to promote the development of destinations with lower passenger density and, together, continue to expand the country’s connectivity.

The agreement will provide more flight alternatives within Argentina, increasing frequencies and connecting more cities in the country with Buenos Aires or directly, without passing through Buenos Aires. To put into effect this agreement, which began in September 1, SOL will launch a plan for the renewal of its fleet, currently composed of Saab 340 aircraft with 34 seats, CRJ 200 aircraft with 50 seats, which will incorporate from October.
