Air Astana Establishes a New Direct Flight from Astana to Bishkek

Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s flag carrier launches new non stop flight from Astana to Bishkek effective from April 23, 2013.

The new non-stop service linking the capital of Kyrgyzstan with the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan that will be carried out three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Two hours flight will be operated on Embraer 190 (9 business/88 economy seats).

“The launch off the new services between Astana and Bishkek is the latest step in Air Astana’s strategy of regional expansion. The new three weekly services from Astana not only complement the existing five weekly services between Almaty and Bishkek, but significantly, connect the capitals of the two countries. In addition to direct traffic, the schedules of the new flights have been planned to encourage connecting passengers, via Astana, between Bishkek and Air Astana points in the Russian Federation, such as Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Omsk, and Moscow. This new flight also enables passengers to connect from Kyrgyzstan onto the Air Astana network to European destinations, such as Istanbul and Frankfurt. The minimum cost of a round trip economy class ticket from Astana to Bishkek, including all fees, is US$ 246.31 and a business class ticket is US$ 584.31.

As mentioned, Astana – Bishkek flight will be airline’s second service performed to the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The flight between Bishkek and Almaty was established November 3, 2008. At the moment there has been 1820 flights made for this route, and carried more than 52 million passengers and 70,000 pounds of cargo.
