Air France about to take delivery of its 200th Boeing

On 9 December 2010, Air France will be taking delivery of its 200th Boeing from the American manufacturer. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, will arrive next Thursday at around 6 am from Everest, near Seattle.

This Boeing 777-330ER, registration F-GZNH, the 56th 777 in the Air France fleet, will be the first aircraft equipped with the new business class seats. This seat offers passengers additional comfort with its fixed shell to preserve privacy. Its new features include: a new seat structure which reclines into a two metre-long seat bed and a new fixed footrest, seat controls which are easier to use, new storage space, a 15-inch wide video screen (38 centimetres).

There are 3 different cabin classes on board: Affaires (Business), Premium Voyageur and Voyageur (Economy).

By summer 2011, over 20 aircraft will be equipped with the new Business class seats and by 2013 close to 2,000 seats will have been installed on around forty long-haul aircraft in the long-haul fleet – Airbus A330, Boeing 777 and Airbus A380.

Air France has invested 90 million euros over three years to equip new and current aircraft as well as to renew its catering service in Business class.
