Air Moldova's results for 2012

In the period from January to December 2012, the company transported about 506 000 passengers, with 19 000 passengers more than in the same period of 2011. The biggest increase of passenger flow in 2012 was registered on following destinations: Istanbul (21%), Frankfurt (13%), Kiev (11%) and St. Petersburg (7%).
In 2012 Air Moldova substantially expanded its route network by opening new flights from Chisinau to Bologna, Dublin, Surgut, Venice and Verona. The frequencies of flights Chisinau- Bucharest and Chisinau-Kiev were increased due rise of passengers’ demand for additional flight frequencies on these destinations.
For passengers’ convenience Air Moldova optimized air routes Chisinau-Paris and Chisinau-London.
Flights to capitals of France and Great Britain which were operated with intermediate stops, starting from November, 2012 are operated on non-stop basis.
Joining Billing and Settlement Plans of Belgium, Israel, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Ukraine and Czech Republic substantially expanded Air Moldova’s agent network on territories of these countries. In these countries tickets for Air Moldova flights can be purchased from any IATA accredited agent.
In 2012 more than 10 000 passengers traveled from Chisinau to Germany using Air&Rail product, taking advantage of intermodal transportation travelling by air with Air Moldova from Chisinau to Frankfurt and travelling by train from Frankfurt to any of 6000 German railway station with Deutsche Bahn AG and back.
Online ticket sales through company’s official website www.airmoldova.md in 2012 increased with 75% if compared with 2011 and constituted 17% from overall sales through all distribution channels for flights of Air Moldova. Online ticket sales option was activated on www.airmoldova.md five years ago and became very popular with Air Moldova passengers thanks to its simplicity and usability.
In 2012 Air Moldova continued with promoting seasonal sales campaigns the aim of which was offering its passengers lower prices for air transportation. In February, 2012 Air Moldova offered its passengers promotional tickets for summer season flights and in September, 2012 – for winter season flights. During online promo campaigns Air Moldova passengers purchased about 10 thousand tickets at promotional prices.
In order to improve quality of customer care, Air Moldova’s call-center and helpdesk services began to offer nonstop services 24/24.
In 2012 Air Moldova implemented electronic interline agreement with Greek air company Aegean Aviation S.A. and signed interline agreements with Aerolineas Argentinas and Carpatair.
Thanks to an interline agreement each airline can issue flights of its partner on its own ticket stock. Conclusion of cargo interline agreements with Kuwait Airways and Jet Airways provides better geographical coverage and possibilities to Air Moldova and its customers in transportation of cargo.
