Air New Zealand and Aerolineas Argentinas join to expand the offer of flights

Air New Zealand and Aerolíneas Argentinas signed an agreement to inaugurate a new connecting route and services between Australia and New Zealand. It is foreseen that flights shall start operating on December, 2015.

The air company Air New Zealand announced through a press release that its first service of direct flight scheduled for South America shall have Buenos Aires as its destination, thanks to the code-share agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas.

However, it is clear from the statement that the agreement is subject to the corresponding regulatory approvals. Nevertheless, this shared code will permit Aerolíneas Argentinas to operate again in the South Pacific market, with a new connecting route and services between Australia and New Zealand (Trans-Tasman). Air New Zealand will also share with Aerolíneas Argentinas the code of services that the flag airline offers to Brazil.

Flights will start operating on December, 2015 and, once obtain the corresponding approvals, it will start the sale of ticket in the month of March. Air New Zealand shall use a Boeing 777-200 aircraft to unite Buenos Aires and Auckland, thrice a week.

Buenos Aires shall be the twenty-eighth Air New Zealand international destination and its Executive Director, Christopher Luxon, stated that the new route will open “a world of opportunities for travellers that could wish to explore New Zealand or connect without interruptions with Australia”.

“The new service shall permit argentine people to travel directly to New Zealand and then Australia or to have access to the Southern Asian area with the service to Singapore”, assured the executive.

Besides, it has been announced that the airline shall open an office soon in the city and that the sale of tickets shall start on March.

“Argentina is a new and attractive destination for New Zealanders that will be able to reach in a direct flight from Auckland; additionally, it is about a fantastic opportunity in order to let the Australians visit the country”, declared the manager.
