Representatives from Air Tahiti Nui, the international airline of
Tahiti, and Lufthansa Technik, a leading provider of technical
services for commercial aircraft, have signed a long-term engine
repair and overhaul contract for the 21 CFM56-5C engines of Air
Tahiti Nui’s A340-300 fleet.
The contract runs over a period of eight years and also comprises
additional engine related services like component maintenance,
logistics including transportation, pooling and lease support, engine
maintenance management, airline support team (AST), advanced
work-scoping and spare engine coverage.
The services will be delivered via the global Lufthansa Technik
network. Spare parts will come from Frankfurt and Hamburg, overhaul
and repair work will be executed at the Lufthansa Technik sites in
Hamburg.
On the occasion of the contract signing ceremony Etienne Howan,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from Air Tahiti Nui said: " As
part of a tender Air Tahiti Nui has decided to entrust the
maintenance of its Engines to the best offerer, always with the
concern to preserve the high technical quality of such maintenance.
We are satisfied with the results of the tender which enables us to
sign up with a group recognized worldwide for the quality of its
teams and its experience."

selected by Air Tahiti Nui to provide engine services for its Airbus
A340 fleet. The CFM56-5C is one of the core engine types in our

high level of support which our customer is expecting from us.”
