This is the first time that airberlin is operating non-stop flights to New York from Berlin-Tegel and Düsseldorf during the winter timetable, which means that the airline is now offering its passengers a year-round non-stop service between Germany and the Big Apple.
Consequently airberlin launched an integrated print and radio campaign to coincide with the start of the winter schedule on 1st November. These advertisements focus on the attractions of this great American city – even during the winter months. New York is a particularly popular destination in the run-up to Christmas. Every year tourists flock to Manhattan for their Christmas shopping. Other highlights include the view of the snow-covered city from the “Top of the Rock”, the observation deck at the Rockefeller Center, and a visit to the Center’s famous ice rink.
True to its slogan “the no. 1 choice for beach lovers”, Germany’s second largest airline is already advertising its flights for the summer schedule 2012 from Düsseldorf to Los Angeles and a new service from Berlin to Los Angeles.
Flights from Düsseldorf to New York take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and start at 219.99 euros one way. Flights from Berlin Tegel also start at 219.99 euros, and leave for the Big Apple on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. From May 2012 airberlin’s flights to Los Angeles, starting at 349.99 euros one way, will be available from Düsseldorf, as will the new service from Berlin. Tickets can be booked online via airberlin.com, by calling the airline’s Service Centre (tel. 01805 – 737 800; € 0.14/min. from a German landline, mobile phone charges not exceeding € 0.42/min.) as well as through travel agencies. These prices include taxes, charges and topbonus miles.
