airberlin starts off the fall with a stable number of passengers

With 3,377,622 passengers in September 2014, airberlin recorded a 2.1% increase of its number of passengers in yearly comparison. The revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) within airberlin’s worldwide flight route network increased to almost 5 billion, an increase of 2 percent. airberlin thus got off to a good start for the fall.

The available seat kilometers (ASK) for September amounted to 5.7 billion, i.e. an increase of 2.3 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year. The expansion of the flights on offer continues to be well received, and the capacity utilization rate remained stable at 87 percent (-0.3 percentage points).

For the first three quarters of the year, the number of passengers amounted to 24,838,203, i.e. 0.6 percent over the level of the previous year. The revenue passenger kilometers for the January to September period increased to 38.181 billion (previous year: 37.840 billion) and the available seat kilometers increased to 45.391 billion (previous year: 44.203 billion).
