Aldus Aviation delivers the second of four Embraer E190 aircraft to Royal Air Maroc

Shannon, Ireland, December 1, 2014 – Aldus Aviation delivered the second of four new Embraer E190 aircraft to Royal Air Maroc (“RAM”), the national carrier of Morocco on November 25. This follows agreement by RAM earlier this year to introduce the E190 as part of a fleet upgrade – all four Aldus owned aircraft will delivery by year-end.
These aircraft are part of an order that Aldus, a lessor focused exclusively on E-Jets, placed with Embraer to underpin its growth plans to be a significant E-Jet lessor and expand its product offerings to airlines. “The delivery of the aircraft from our order-book is a notable first for Aldus, and we are thrilled to welcome RAM as a new client” said Philip Bolger, Chairman of Aldus, “We expect to have 30 E-Jets in our portfolio by year-end and we see excellent prospects to double our portfolio by 2016 with more deliveries from our order as well as sale and lease-back transactions.” Embraer is projected to achieve a market share of over 55% in the 70-120 seat category.
“Aldus is one of the world’s largest Embraer-focused lessors and has been a strong partner for Embraer since it commenced business in 2008” said Paulo Cesar Silva, President & CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “It is gratifying to see that partnership strengthen and grow with this first delivery to RAM as new operator from its 20 E-Jet order book”.
“We are pleased to welcome Aldus Aviation as the lessor of our first E-Jets. We are looking forward to deploying the E190 on our network and expect to see positive results in operations, customer acceptance and, importantly, in our financial performance,” said Mr. Driss Benhima, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc. “The aircraft perfectly matches our needs in terms of size and range.”
