Shannon, Ireland. 20th January, 2012. Aldus Aviation Limited (‘Aldus’) the Shannon, Ireland-based international aircraft leasing company, completed the delivery of a new Embraer E190 aircraft to the super-regional Brazilian carrier TRIP on December 15th. This brings to 17, the number of aircraft in the Aldus all-Embraer E-Jet portfolio.
Stephen Gorman, CEO of Aldus stated: “Aldus is very pleased to welcome TRIP to its growing list of operators. The rapid growth of TRIP in the recent past has confirmed the strength and resilience of the Brazilian market. This aircraft is the first of 14 to be financed under a unique export credit facility negotiated by Aldus with BNDES, the Brazil Export Bank.”
Commenting on the transaction Marcello Iannalfo, Chief Financial Officer of TRIP, said: “We are pleased to have taken delivery of our 19th E-Jet and our first from Aldus. We established a good working relationship with the Aldus team and will be looking to do further leases with Aldus in the future.”
Embraer’s Eduardo Munhós de Campos, Vice President, Latin America and the Caribbean – Commercial Aviation, said: “Aldus has recognised the importance of the growing Brazilian market and we are delighted to see this first Aldus delivery to TRIP, an important Embraer customer, and currently the operator of a sizeable E-Jet fleet, with further deliveries contracted in 2012 and 2013.”
