ALTA Member Airlines Passenger Traffic Increases 5.2% in November 2014

Miami, January 14, 2015 -The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 15.4 million passengers in November, up 5.2% from the previous year.

Traffic (RPK) grew 5.4% and capacity (ASK) increased 4.5%, bringing up the load factor to 79.5%, 0.6 percentage points higher than in November 2013.

Year-to-date, the number of passengers carried from January to November increased 5.6% versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 163.4 million passengers. During the aforementioned period, traffic (RPK) rose 5.9%, capacity (ASK) increased 3.1%, and the passenger load factor reached 79.5%, 2.1 percentage points higher than the previous year.

Freight ton kilometers declined 0.5% in November and 0.4% year-to-date (November 2014).
