Miami, July 24, 2013- The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 12.8 million passengers in June, up 9.2% from the previous year.
Traffic (RPK) grew 7.7% and capacity (ASK) increased 5.2%, bringing up the load factor to 77.7%, 1.8 percentage points higher than in June 2012.
The number of passengers carried year-to-date increased 6.7% versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 76.8 million passengers. During the aforementioned period, traffic (RPK) rose 7.0%, capacity (ASK) increased 5.5%, and the passenger load factor reached 76.2%, 1.1 percentage points higher than the previous year.
Freight ton kilometers increased 3.5% in June and 2.1% year-to-date.
