ANA Group today announces its passenger traffic figures for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2011.
A total of 43,059,622 passengers were carried during the year – an increase of 2.3 per cent on FY2009 – making ANA the largest airline in Japan by passenger numbers. The expansion of ANA’s international network during 2010 resulted in a record 4,812,907 passengers on international flights during the year, an increase of 16.6 per cent. A total of 38,246,715 passengers were carried on domestic services, an increase of 0.8 per cent. Both numbers are higher than FY2009.
Available seat kilometres during FY2010 on international routes increased by 14.6 % compared to FY2009, while available seat kilometres on domestic routes decreased by 1.3 per cent.
Following the Tohoku Earthquake on March 11, ANA contributed to relief efforts by flying services to Fukushima, Yamagata and Sendai. All of ANA’s international and domestic operations with the exception of Sendai have been operating their normal schedule since March 13, and operations at Sendai airport have also now partially resumed.
