Orlando, Fla. – October 30, 2012 – Associated Air Center (AAC), StandardAero’s Large Transport Category VIP Completions Center in Dallas, Texas, now offers CFM56-7B engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) for Boeing Business Jets (BBJs) through StandardAero’s engine overhaul facility in Winnipeg, Canada. Earlier this year, AAC and StandardAero began cross training team members to provide BBJ operators a one-stop option for BBJ total service.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer our customers the added service element of engine repair work on their BBJ aircraft,” said Chris Schechter, Vice President & General Manager, Associated Air Center. “This added capability provides our customers with increased convenience by streamlining their service needs under one roof and with the confidence backed by StandardAero’s reputation.”
This enhanced cooperation with StandardAero resulted in the development of a CFM56-7B engine workscope specifically designed for the BBJ Operator known as the Low Utilization Turbine Engine (LUTE) Inspection. CFM56 engines are a product of CFM International, a 50/50 joint venture between GE and Snecma. The inspection process, designed to be conducted in as little as 25-days, is meant to assure the BBJ operator that a lack of shop visits due to low utilization over the engine’s life does not result in engine decline and substandard performance.
Each LUTE Inspection is customized for each engine using a framework developed by the AAC/StandardAero team. The inspection involves researching each engine logbook to understand its configuration, then customizing the plan based on the individual operator’s financial situation, risk tolerance, down-time requirements and operating conditions.
AAC provides world-class program management and ODA certification authority to keep airplane programs on schedule and provides industry-leading experience and warranty support after delivery. The company’s vertically-integrated, state of the art facility employs the most advanced engineering in the industry along with operational excellence and superior customer service from start to finish.
AAC and StandardAero will be exhibiting at the 65th Annual National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Convention and Expo, October 30 – November 1, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.; Booth 2000.
