Avation Appoints Tony Romano as Chief Commercial Officer

Avation has appointed Tony Romano as Chief Commercial Officer, strengthening its commercial leadership as the aircraft lessor continues to market its ATR 72-600 orderbook and manage its global leasing portfolio.

Romano joined the company in August 2026 and will lead and mentor Avation’s global airline marketing team. He brings more than 30 years of aviation experience across aircraft sales, leasing, airline marketing, commercial strategy and transaction execution.

Most recently, Romano served as Vice President, Global Marketing, Americas at Nordic Aviation Capital, where he led airline marketing and lease transaction activities across North America. Previously, he was Director of Sales, North America at Airbus America, where he played a key commercial role in Delta Air Lines’ order for 75 Airbus A220 aircraft plus 50 options and the memorandum of understanding covering 170 Airbus A220 aircraft for Breeze Airways and JetBlue.

Earlier in his career, Romano held senior commercial positions at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, helping secure the manufacturer’s first commercial aircraft order in South Korea while expanding its presence across North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Avation said Romano’s industry relationships and experience in aircraft marketing and lease transactions will support the placement of its ATR 72-600 orderbook, which extends through 2034, as well as lease extensions, remarketing activities and aircraft transitions across the company’s fleet.
