AviaAM Leasing continues successful performance in the second half of 2012

AviaAM Leasing, an integrated aviation company engaged in aircraft leasing and management business, introduce the outlines of its progress in H2 2012 and new targets for 2013.

AviaAM Leasing had maintained positive development throughout the second half of 2012, despite the ongoing issues in the European aviation market. ‘We are developing our activities on several markets: the CEE, Russia and the CIS. This allows us to ensure high performance despite the challenging situation on the European markets,’ commented Justinas Gilys, General Manager of AviaAM Leasing.

During autumn-winter 2012 the company expanded its mainline airplane fleet by purchasing two additional Boeing 737-500s. The acquisition was predetermined by the rising demand for the aircraft type among the company’s clients in the CIS region. As soon as all maintenance works are finished and the airplanes receive their new individualized cabin configurations, AviaAM Leasing will deliver these aircraft to a lessee from one of the CIS countries.

Furthermore, AviaAM Leasing had further augmented its fleet of regional jets. With the CIS regional aviation market players intensively upgrading their fleets, AviaAM Leasing had acquired one more Bombardier CRJ 200 to be leased to the Russian-based ‘Yamal’ air company. This will be the 8th AviaAM Leasing CRJ200 aircraft supplementing the carrier’s fleet.

During the second half of 2012 AviaAM Leasing also closed several successful sale deals. For instance, the company fully refurbished and sold two of its CRJ200s to one of the leading Kazakh air companies ‘SCAT’ thus increasing the total number of regional jets delivered to it up to 6.

‘2012 was a challenging year, but our experience and expertise in our target markets had helped us to overcome every obstacle. We are very proud of the trust shown by our clients in Russia, Kazakhstan, and other CIS countries. With the ongoing fleet westernization processes in the region, we are glad to assist our partners in acquiring and introducing Western aircraft to their fleets. In 2013 we expect to improve our already strong position in the CIS region while further exploring the niche market of regional aircraft and mid-life commercial jets. During the year we expect to fully implement our earlier signed sales deals, for instance, by completing all maintenance and refurbishment works on 4 of our jets and delivering them to new customers. Furthermore, in 2013 we will continue developing our aircraft conversion capabilities, as we are already on the verge of successfully finishing the conversion of our second CRJ200. All in all, we are confident that 2013 will be even more successful and productive than any previous year,’ concluded Gediminas Siaudvytis, the Executive Board member of AviaAM Leasing.
