AVINCO CELEBRATES 10 YEARS AS LEADING AIRCRAFT MANAGEMENT & TRADING FIRM

This year Avinco proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary as one of the leading specialists in large aircraft placement, management and leasing. By the end of the year, Avinco’s leased aircraft portfolio will have a value of $480m placing Avinco among the top 50 aircraft asset managers worldwide.
The company was established in 2003 in Dublin and is now a 20-strong company, with operations in Monaco and Ireland which has steadily grown despite various industry upheavals over the past 10 years.
In parallel Avinco has also become a leading player in the helicopter sector and is now the largest trader of used helicopters worldwide. Avinco has successfully closed transactions on over 240 helicopters since the company was founded, more than half of which have been traded from its own portfolio. Since the beginning of the year Avinco has completed 20 helicopters transactions showing its growing presence in this market.
On the commercial aircraft side, Avinco has successfully financed, sourced, traded or placed over 120 large commercial aircraft on all continents. This includes over 90 narrowbodies (A320 family, 737 family and E190s), several widebodies such as A330, A340, 747 and 777s, and a number of large VIP jets (ACJ, 747,etc..). Separately Avinco has raised over $200m of debt to support various acquisitions.
Avinco’s multicultural team has distinguished itself from its competitors with its ability to provide placement solutions which have become more structured as the market has evolved. Over the past ten years, finding airline cash buyers for used equipment has become extremely difficult for various reasons. Avinco anticipated this market change by building up a financing and management capability which has, for instance, enabled our clients to offer a lease product which Avinco can resell in the market at a higher price for our client.
“Our recipe for success has been simple: since our inception, the company’s focus has been to provide the very best results for our clients. Much of our business has been with repeat clients, proving our ability to build and keep strong relationships with our network, and deliver dedicated and effective solutions for each of our customers” explains François Gautier, CEO and Founder.“Over the past decade, Avinco has taken great pride in making aircraft acquisitions and disposals easier by offering tailored solutions to its clients, small and big alike”, he adds, “ Avinco will continue to evolve and expand, as structured deals become increasingly important for aircraft investors and operators. As we enter our second decade in business, we will be expanding our leasing platform and develop our capability to trade commercial aircraft using our own resources or in partnership with investors” concludes Gautier.
