Avinco, the specialist remarketing and leasing advisor based in Monaco and Dublin, has successfully placed 5 737s and 3 A340s so far in 2011 as well as sourcing 4 A320 family aircraft on behalf of a new Chinese lessor.
The 737s included two new surplus 800s sold on behalf of Air Europa, one early production 800 leased to Jet2.com (UK) and two classics sold on behalf of Air Austral (La Réunion). The A340s are owned by a US based fund and placed on long term lease to a South American carrier, due to be delivered later this year.
Avinco spent much of 2009 and 2010 concentrating on placing Airbus A320s (delivering for sale or lease a total of 7 new and used aircraft in an 18 month period), the latest deals demonstrate both an improving trading market and the substantially increased marketing capabilities of Avinco. The marketing team was boosted over this period with the addition of two industry veterans, Mauricio Guevara (ex Amentum) and Olof Koppenberg (ex Macquarie) and now comprises five full time airline marketing specialists in addition to technical, legal, lease management and back-office support staff.
Avinco has also boosted its portfolio of managed aircraft by the addition of four A320 family aircraft leased into China. Avinco is actively seeking further assets to manage and remarket, and currently holds exclusive mandates to sell a 737-800, A319 and source assets leased to Chinese carriers.
Avinco has grown to become one of the largest independent remarketing, sourcing and management firms in the world. Avinco is separately the world’s largest trader of pre-owned helicopters.
