AWAS delivers 747-400 factory freighter to long-time customer Centurion Air Cargo

AWAS announced today that it has delivered one 747-400 factory freighter with nose-loading capability to its long-time customer Centurion Air Cargo based in Miami, Florida. The aircraft is from AWAS’ existing portfolio.

Carlos Donado, CCO Centurion Air Cargo stated, “This is a momentous day for us at Centurion. We have been a widebody air cargo specialist to and from South America for over two decades, and now we are talking delivery of our first 747-400 factory freighter with full nose-loading capability which is key to our expansion plans to better serve our strong Latin American markets as well as the European routes.”

Marlin Dailey, Chief Commercial Officer AWAS commented on the delivery, “Centurion has been a valued AWAS customer for over 4 years now and we are very proud that we have grown our relationship from one freighter in 2010, to then 3 more, to now delivering the first 747-400F in their fleet. The unique advantages of this freighter with its nose-loading capability will afford Centurion added air cargo opportunities for outsized items such as vehicles, as well as oil and gas exploration equipment.”

Centurion Cargo was originally founded in 1985 and has been operating continuously since 2001 as Centurion Air Cargo Inc.

Based at Miami International Airport the 550,000 square foot Centurion Cargo Center is by far the largest privately owned all cargo airline facility in North America.

Centurion is one of the leading cargo airlines operating to and from Latin America and No. 1 in the handling of live animals and perishable goods, and has recently expanded its network to 4 weekly flights from Amsterdam/The Netherlands.
