AWAS announced today that it has delivered an Airbus A320-200 passenger aircraft to TAME, the national airline of Ecuador. The aircraft is from AWAS’ existing portfolio.
Rafael Farias, CEO TAME, said “AWAS displayed a tremendous ability to listen to TAME’s requirements and to then tailor a complete solution to our needs, even including an important training package for our flight crews and maintenance personnel as part of their successful proposal.”
Ray Sisson, President & CEO AWAS commented, “AWAS is very pleased to welcome TAME as a customer today and to add Ecuador to the nearly 50 countries we serve. We believe that it marks the beginning of a long-term relationship built upon understanding their unique business model and helping them to grow efficiently.”
Walter Valarezo, Managing Director Americas AWAS stated, “Our team has been in ongoing discussions with TAME regarding their fleet requirements as well as looking for opportunities to provide solutions to help them grow. We are very proud to have been able to provide TAME with an aircraft that meets their high-altitude takeoff requirement for operations out of Quito and even La Paz as well as features like a ventilated/heated cargo compartment and a two-class interior configuration.”
TAME is the leading carrier in Ecuador, serving 15 domestic destinations including the Galapagos Islands. The newly delivered aircraft will support TAME ́s international expansion, which includes present services to 7 destinations in Latin America and new flights to Buenos Aires and New York.
