AWAS Delivers First of Three Planned A320-200s to New Customer Starflyer

Dublin based aircraft lessor, AWAS, announced today that it delivered an Airbus A320-200 passenger aircraft to Starflyer, a successful and growing Japanese airline. This is the first of three planned deliveries from AWAS to Starflyer through 2014, and this delivery will be the sixth aircraft in their fleet.

“Starflyer is very pleased to receive this new Airbus A320-200 passenger aircraft from AWAS,” said Shinichi Yonehara, President & CEO. “Our successful business model and differentiated service have helped us to grow, as our customers appreciate our dedication to superior service and amenities.”

This new aircraft will be used on three routes: Tokyo (Haneda) to Kitakyushu, Kansai and Fukuoka (from July 2011). Starflyer provides its business-focused customers with unmatched comfort: such as seat-back IFE and leather seating with a spacious 34 inch pitch in a uniquely stylish setting.

“AWAS is extremely proud to be able to assist Starflyer with their growth plans.” said Ray Sisson, President & CEO, AWAS. “The delivery of this A320 marks the first aircraft that AWAS has placed into Japan since 1998. We are dedicated to supporting this important market and our new customer Starflyer with enhanced solutions and unmatched service.”

Mr. Sisson added, “During the recent tsunami tragedy, AWAS reached-out to Starflyer as they were a leader in galvanizing support and response efforts. Based upon their recommendation, AWAS immediately made a donation on behalf of our company and our people to the Japanese Red Cross.”
