AWAS delivers fourth new Airbus A320 aircraft to LAN Airlines

Dublin-based global aircraft lessor, AWAS, announced today that it has delivered a fourth new A320 passenger aircraft to LAN, one of the leading passenger and cargo airlines in Latin America.

In late 2011 AWAS and LAN entered into a purchase and leaseback transaction for 5 Airbus A320 aircraft that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer for 2011-2012 delivery. LAN will use these new fuel-efficient, narrowbody aircraft to strengthen and modernise their regional network throughout South America.

As part of this overall fleet solution, AWAS has also completed the early redelivery of three B737-700s from LAN Colombia. Two of the 737-700s have already been delivered to two other operators in The Americas and the third one is to be delivered shortly.
