AWAS finalises acquisition of two Boeing 737-800 and one Airbus A330-200 aircraft

Dublin based aircraft lessor, AWAS, announced today that it has finalised the acquisition of two Boeing 737-800’s and one Airbus A330-200 passenger aircraft from another lessor. The two 737’s are already on long-term leases to current AWAS customer Garuda Indonesia, and the widebody Airbus A330-200 is on lease to Qantas.

“This acquisition of highly desirable aircraft, further adding to AWAS’ modern fleet, is another example of how we are profitably growing our platform,” said Ray Sisson, President and CEO, AWAS. “This successful transaction, coupled with our demonstrated ability to grow our fleet through purchase lease-backs and our significant new order pipeline, are levers that we can utilise to drive value for our customers and our shareholders.”

Carter White, AWAS’ Head of Aircraft Trading remarked, “AWAS has shown the market that we are going to be very active in acquiring strong aircraft assets. Our highly-capable team has relationships around the globe and are eager to build upon our recent successes.”

AWAS would like to acknowledge and thank DVB Bank SE, London for their support in the funding of the two Garuda aircraft by way of a commercial loan facility. The company would also like to thank Westpac Banking Corporation, Sydney Branch, the lender to AWAS for the acquisition of the A330-200 on lease to Qantas.
