AWAS to lease one A330-300 widebody passenger aircraft to new customer Brussels Airlines
AWAS announced today that it has added Brussels Airlines to its customer list with the agreed lease placement of one A330-300 widebody passenger aircraft. Brussels Airlines, a member of the Lufthansa Group and a Star Alliance member, offers the widest choice of flights to and from the capital of the European Union. This aircraft comes from AWAS’ existing portfolio.
Bernard Gustin, CEO of Brussels Airlines commented on the agreement, “We are very pleased about this cooperation with AWAS and look forward to welcoming this A330-300 aircraft to our fleet. In 2015 Brussels Airlines realized the largest passenger growth in our history, and with this modern A330-300 we plan to open new routes based upon strong customer demand.”
Marlin Dailey, Chief Commercial Officer AWAS remarked, “AWAS is extremely proud to add Brussels Airlines as a new customer. Our team worked hard to respond to the airline’s requirements to provide a young, modern A330-300 tailored to their operational and market specific needs.”
Brussels Airlines, member of Lufthansa Group and a Star Alliance member, is the Belgian airline that offers the widest choice of flights to and from the capital of Europe, Brussels Airport. The company has more than 3,500 employees and 47 aircraft operating some 300 flights daily, connecting the Capital of Europe to over 90
European and African destinations, as well as two destinations in the USA (New York JFK and Washington D.C.).
In 2015 Brussels Airlines realized the largest passenger growth in the history of the airline, with a total of 7, 5 million guests on board of its flights. This represents an increase of 12.1 percent versus 2014 and even +30% compared to 2013. This growth is significantly higher than the average of the European airlines and the overall passenger numbers on the Belgian market. The reason is to be found in the airline offering a combination of both attractive prices and premium service.
