Balkans and Germany – Eurolot opens to new markets

Warsaw, 22nd August 2014 – At the beginning of the winter season in 2014, Polish regional airline Eurolot opens new connections from Fryderyk Chopin Airport in Warsaw. Eurolot’s Q400 Bombardier aircrafts will operate on flights to Stuttgart, Germany and to three Balkan airports: Zagreb (Croatia), Chisinau (Moldavia) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Tickets for new Eurolot’s destinations are available in the booking system of the carrier.

The south-west part of Germany is one of the wealthiest and most economically developed German and European markets. Stuttgart is a city that is a home to large concerns and multinational corporations, which corresponds with heavy passenger traffic, in particular of those travelling in business. In the upcoming winter season, thanks to new destinations of Eurolot, that region will have direct links with Warsaw and Central and Eastern Europe.

Eurolot flexibly and dynamically responds to the opportunities emerging in the aviation market. Such opportunities are the new routes from Warsaw which, from the winter season, will be offered by our airline. Some of them, in particular the ‘Balkan’ directions, are considered not only as niche but also as future-oriented, still in anticipation of significant growth of tourism and passenger traffic. It was also the case two years ago, when we launched holiday flights from Poland to Croatia, being the first Polish carrier to ‘explore’ that country for our passengers. Now those routes are our strong points on the map and I believe that the new routes will also meet the passengers’ expectations – says Tomasz Balcerzak, CEO Eurolot SA.

A great advantage of Eurolot can become the new, so called ‘Balkan’ routes, namely Zagreb, Chisinau and Cluj-Napoca. They are commonly perceived as niche regions in the aviation market, ‘unexplored’ before by other Polish carriers, which are increasingly visited for both tourism and business purposes. With the new connections to Balkan Peninsula, Eurolot has a chance to establish a link between the countries of the ‘New Europe’, Poland and the Central and Eastern Europe. The new offer of the carrier is also a chance to appear at the airports and markets in which other airlines do not use the entire potential of passenger traffic, especially on routes to Poland.

The potential of new routes in Eurolot connections is also the first step towards long-term cooperation with partners including tour operators for the promotion of Eurolot brand itself and of our country too.

Eurolot’s Bombardiers will operate flights 7 times a week to Zagreb, 6 times a week to Cluj-Napoca, and 4 times a week to Chisinau. What is more, the passengers will reach those airports in the Balkan Peninsula within less than two hours from Warsaw.

From Warsaw to Stuttgart, for 7 days a week are scheduled, with travel time a little more than 2 hours. Visit the carrier’s website www.eurolot.com for detailed timetable.
