BOC AVIATION DELIVERS LAST OF EIGHT BOEING 777-300ER AIRCRAFT FOR LEASE TO THAI AIRWAYS

BOC Aviation has delivered the last of the eight 777-300ERs ordered from Boeing for long-term lease to Thai Airways (THAI). The aircraft, powered by GE90 engines, delivered over the period to October 2013. The lease transaction, announced in November 2010, marked the first time BOC Aviation had worked with the Thai national carrier.

Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation, said, “The size of the order and financing of a stream of wide-body deliveries demonstrate BOC Aviation’s strength in helping customers manage risk on their balance sheets over an extended timeframe, so they can focus their financial resources on operations and expansion.”

To date, BOC Aviation has taken delivery of a total of 31 Boeing 777 aircraft. The aircraft were delivered to Thai Airways (8), Cathay Pacific (6), Malaysian Airlines (5), Air France (4), Emirates (4), Air Canada (3), and Korean Air (1). Some of these aircraft have now been sold.

BOC Aviation is the leading Asia-based aircraft leasing company with a portfolio of 233 aircraft operated by 55 airlines from 33 countries, with another 104 aircraft on firm order. BOC Aviation has one of the youngest fleets in the industry with an average aircraft age of less than four years.

BOC Aviation, which is 100% owned by Bank of China, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on 25 November this year.
