BOC Aviation has agreed to acquire 12 Airbus A320neos for long-term lease to Avianca, expanding its relationship with the Colombian carrier and supporting parent Abra Group’s fleet growth strategy.
The aircraft will be purchased directly from Airbus and are scheduled for delivery in 2029. All 12 will be powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines.
The transaction also includes pre-delivery payment financing support for Avianca. BOC Aviation said such financing is becoming increasingly important for airline customers as manufacturers increase aircraft production and carriers fund growing delivery pipelines.
For Avianca and Abra Group, the additional A320neos will provide new-generation narrowbody capacity to support network growth and connectivity across Latin America while improving fleet efficiency.
The deal increases BOC Aviation’s forward commitments to the A320neo Family while extending its existing leasing relationship with Avianca.
