BRINDABELLA AIRLINES WELCOMES QANTAS AIRWAYS AS A CODESHARE PARTNER

Brindabella Airlines announced today that it has signed a codeshare agreement with Qantas Airways for flights operating on five key regional routes.

“We are very pleased to announce our codeshare agreement with Qantas, Australia’s largest domestic and international airline said Paul Schütz, Brindabella Airlines Chief Executive Officer. “This agreement represents another step in our strategy to further develop regional air services and links the Communities served by Brindabella Airlines with the Qantas global network. Our customers will benefit from enhanced connectivity and booking flexibility”.

Sales of codeshare service flights commence today with Qantas Airways flight numbers being placed on Brindabella Airlines services between Sydney and Moree, Sydney and Newcastle, Brisbane and Tamworth, and Brisbane and Coffs Harbour; for travel from 1st August 2013. Flights between Sydney and Orange are on sale for travel commencing 1st September 2013.

Brindabella Airlines Chief Commercial Officer James Blake said in Moree today: “We are delighted to welcome Qantas as a codeshare partner. This agreement will allow, for example, passengers traveling on Qantas from an international or other domestic port to travel seamlessly through to Coffs Harbour, and Tamworth via Brisbane; or to Newcastle, Moree, and Orange via Sydney and vice versa. Where passengers have booked a flight with a Brindabella Airlines flight number through a travel agent for travel on all our routes, we will be able to offer them the option to through check their baggage and issue boarding cards to their final destination when connecting with Qantas services.”

Last week, Brindabella Airlines announced that it continues as a partner in Australia’s leading loyalty programs, Qantas Frequent Flyer. With effect from today, members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points on all Brindabella Airlines Maxi Saver and Fully Flexible fares across all of our routes.

James Blake said: “In addition to welcoming Qantas as a codeshare partner, we are delighted to offer passengers traveling on Brindabella Airlines flight numbers the opportunity to earn and redeem Qantas Frequent Flyer Points across our full network”.

Brindabella Airlines will deploy their 30 seat Jetstream 4100 aircraft, across all routes which offer the Qantas codeshare service. Brindabella Airlines will offer a full-service product on the routes including a complimentary inflight snacks and refreshments and an afternoon bar service.

Paul Schutz said: “Our progressive introduction of the Jetstream 4100, will improve the customer experience, on time performance, and allow the standardisation of the airline’s fleet, product and on-board service. The BAE Jetstream 4100 aircraft, with its niche capacity for an aircraft of its class, offers fast, comfortable and reliable service to destinations within the 1,000 kilometre range.”

Brindabella Airlines, established in Canberra in 1994, recently integrated the operations of Aeropelican Air Services, an airline founded in Newcastle in 1974. Combined, they present over 60 years’ experience in providing regional air services in Australia. Operating 267 scheduled flights per week, the Brindabella network covers 12 regional ports across NSW, QLD, and ACT and compliments the Qantas domestic operation.
