Brussels Airlines: Passenger growth of 1.6 percent in October

During the past month of October Brussels Airlines registered a passenger growth of 1.6 percent. The cargo activity grew by 23.5 percent.

In total 526,651 passengers flew with Brussels Airlines between Brussels Airport and a European, African or American destination this October. That is 1.6 percent or 8000 passengers more compared to October 2012. The overall increase is mainly due to the growth of the number of passengers on European flights (+0.5 percent) and the capacity- and passenger growth of transatlantic flights.

The freight activities of Brussels Airlines increased by 23.5 percent

The seat load factor stabilized (on average 67.8 percent) because the number of seats offered increased more rapidly than the number of passengers.

The passengers of the many charter flights Brussels Airlines operates on behalf of tour operators, are not included in the overall passenger statistics.
