MIAMI, FL., — March 12th, 2013 — Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI), is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Cargo Air of Bulgaria to provide one B737-400SF 11 Pallet Passenger to Freighter Conversion. The aircraft, a B737-400, MSN 24474 was built in 1989 and is currently undergoing freighter modification at AEI‚’s Authorized Conversion Center, Commercial Jet, Inc. which is located in Miami, Florida. This is the first 737-400SF for Cargo Air who currently operates three AEI 737-300SF 10 Pallet Freighters.
Mr. Angel Petrov, Commercial Director for Cargo Air stated that‚ “Our decision to convert a forth 737 with AEI was based upon two factors, AEI’s outstanding reputation for quality and customer support and the ability of their 737-400SF to carry up to 10 AAA full height containers. This is the only conversion available that offers 10 full height AAA positions and our customers are willing to pay a premium for this additional capacity”.
AEI’s 737-400SF shall provide Cargo Air with a Main Deck capable of carrying multiple ULD’s including:
(10) 88″ × 125″ AAA Containers/pallets, P1 to P10 or
(10) 88″ × 108″ ULD’s, P1 to P10 and
(1) 53″ × 88″ X 64" Pallet or AEP/AEH or 60.4″ × 61.5″ AKE/LD3 or 61.5″ × 88″ × 56″ H AYY in P11
This unique flexibility has been designed by AEI to allow the operator to immediately adapt to multiple ULD configurations at a moment’s notice. When combined with proven reliability, the AEI Converted 737-400SF will allow Cargo Air to keep their aircraft where they belong “In the air, generating revenue”.
