CARPATAIR: ATR 72 RUNWAY EXCURSION IN FIUMICINO AIRPORT

Carpatair confirms that one of its ATR aircraft incurred a runway excursion on landing in Rome Fiumicino airport t at 20.32 this evening in strong wind shear conditions.
All 46 passengers and 4 crew left the plane by the rear exits. 5 passengers and 1 crew member required medical treatment of which one has been taken to hospital.
Carpatair operates since the beginning of 2012 with 2 aircrafts on behalf of Alitalia based on a long term wet lease agreement. The captain of the flight has an experience of 18550 flight hours of which 9600 on the ATR, the aircraft type involved in the incident.
