China Airlines Group and China Southern Airlines have expanded their codeshare service between Taoyuan and Urumqi to six weekly flights. Whether passengers fly with China Airlines or China Southern, they can enjoy greater flexibility in their itineraries. China Airlines Group now offers 111 flights a week to 26 destinations in China, giving business travelers and tourists more options and convenience.
Since China Airlines Group and China Southern became codeshare partners in October 2010, they have offered codeshare flights between Taoyuan and eight destinations in China: Guangzhou, Pudong, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Dalian, Changsha, Zhengzhou, and Shenyang. The additional Taoyuan-Urumqi route brings their total codeshare services to nine routes. Of the 68 total codeshare flights, China Airlines Group operates 33.
As members of the SkyTeam alliance, China Airlines and China Southern continue to strengthen their partnership. In addition to entering into codeshare agreements, they have established the “Greater China Connection” rewards program along with SkyTeam members China Eastern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines. The program enhances the use of shared resources among SkyTeam’s Greater China airlines and is an important development in cross-strait transportation. China Airlines Group and China Southern’s expanded partnership will provide cross-strait passengers with more flight options.
