China Airlines launches Taoyuan-Busan flights

On September 1, China Airlines launched flight services between Taoyuan and Busan, shortening travel time between Taiwan and South Korea’s second-largest city to two and a half hours. China Airlines will operate the service six times a week with its B737-800 aircraft, which seats eight passengers in Business Class and 150 passengers in Economy Class.

The new route brings China Airlines’ total South Korea offerings to 27 weekly flights, comprising 11 Taoyuan-Incheon flights, 7 Kaohsiung-Incheon flights, 3 Songshan- -Gimpo flights, and 6 Taoyuan-Busan flights. China Airlines also offers 14 weekly codeshare flights with Korean Air between Taoyuan and Incheon, providing the most convenient air links between Taiwan and Korea.

China Airlines designed its South Korea travel products with flexibility and convenience in mind. By allowing passengers to choose different outbound and inbound airports including Busan, Incheon, Gimpo, and Fukuoka in Japan, China Airlines frees up passengers’ time, allowing them to visit more destinations. For example, passengers can fly into Busan in the south and fly out of Incheon in the north. They can also visit South Korea and Japan in one trip by flying into Busan, taking a three-hour ferry from Busan to Fukuoka, and flying out of Fukuoka.

Located on the southeastern coast of the Korean Peninsula, Busan is renowned for its beautiful shoreline and mouthwatering seafood. Busan is Korea’s largest port city and second-largest city after Seoul in terms of population, transportation, and economic activity. While tourists flock to Haeundae Beach in the summer, they visit Busan all year round for a delectable feast of Korean-style seafood and cold beer. As the host city of the Busan International Film Festival, Busan Biennale, Busan International Rock Festival, and Busan International Fireworks Festival, Busan also has a vibrant arts and culture scene.

To celebrate the launch of the Busan route, China Airlines is offering an early bird special (30-day advance purchase) of NT$4,120 (pre-tax) for flights between Taoyuan and Busan. Passengers can swap Incheon for Busan, or Fukuoka for Busan, for either their inbound or outbound airports. These tickets start at NT$6,180 and NT$9,100, respectively. Through Dynasty Package, China Airlines is offering a Taoyuan-Busan roundtrip flight and two-night accommodation package starting at NT$9,990. All rates are pre-tax rates.
