Closer cooperation between LOT Polish Airlines and Polish Airports

Warsaw, 8th April 2011 – LOT Polish Airlines and the Polish Airports State Enterprise, which manages Chopin airport in Warsaw, have signed a letter of intent, defining the establishment of future cooperation on both sides.

The letter of intent was signed by Marcin Piróg, Chairman of the Board of LOT Polish Airlines and Micha? Marzec, General Director of Polish Airports.

Both parties signing the document will work together to create the highest standard of quality of services at Chopin Airport in Warsaw as a strategic airport for the Polish carrier. The companies will seek to place their main emphasis on improvement of passenger services, modernization of the airport infrastructure, and activities which increase passenger traffic through the Warsaw airport.

The signing of the letter represents the first step in the ongoing processes of bilateral arrangements concerning closer cooperation between LOT Polish Airlines and Polish Airports.The acceptance of the declaration is also the next move in the execution of the Polish carrier’s new strategy, which aims at the creation of a LOT transit hub for East-West air traffic at Chopin Airport.

“The construction of a hub is a natural step in the development of cooperation between the airport and the main carrier.We are pleased that LOT is continuing building its route network with increasing boldness.This helps our airport to grow in significance.Changes that we intend to implement in the near future will also allow us to make better use of the airport infrastructure, and to increase comfort for transit travellers.Comfort and convenience for passengers is a common interest of both Polish Airports and LOT Polish Airlines”, said Micha? Marzec.
