Cosmos Aviation Capital Closes First Transaction with Croatia Airlines GTF Engine

Cosmos Aviation Capital has completed its inaugural transaction with the acquisition and leaseback of a new Pratt & Whitney PW1500G-series spare engine supporting Croatia Airlines’ Airbus A220 fleet.

The engine was acquired by RESIDCO, which provided the equity for the transaction, while Cosmos originated the deal and will serve as lease manager and servicer.

The sale-leaseback represents the first closing for Cosmos since the aviation investment and asset management platform launched earlier in 2026. It also establishes a long-term servicing relationship between Cosmos and Croatia Airlines.

The PW1500G engine will provide spare engine capacity as Croatia Airlines continues its transition to an A220-based fleet. The carrier plans to take delivery of at least 15 new A220s by 2027 as part of its broader fleet renewal program.

The transaction also expands RESIDCO’s aviation portfolio with the addition of a PW1500G-series engine.

Financial terms of the sale-leaseback were not disclosed.
