Crane Signs Agreement with Esterline to Provide Fuel Flow Transmitter for Rolls-Royce Trent XWB Engine

LE BOURGET, France – June 20, 2011 –Today, Crane Aerospace & Electronics signed a long term agreement with Esterline Advanced Sensors at the Paris Air Show.

The long term agreement formalizes a pre-existing Memorandum of Understanding. Under the terms of the agreement, Crane will provide the fuel flow transmitter for the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine. Esterline will integrate the fuel flow transmitter with a suite of sensing products. Crane’s fuel flow transmitter measures fuel flow rate for gas turbine engines directly in mass measurement, offering the highest performance, reliability and accuracy. This agreement marks the third occasion in which Crane and Esterline have provided an integrated product solution.

“With more than 80 years of experience, Crane Aerospace & Electronics is the leader of high precision fuel flow measurement solutions worldwide,” said John J. Higgs, Aerospace Vice President of Fluid Management Solutions. “We currently provide safe, accurate and reliable fuel flow measurement for approximately 70 percent of the world’s commercial aircraft gas turbine engines. We look forward to providing Esterline with the most trusted and proven fuel flow transmitter in the marketplace for the Trent XWB.”
“This agreement underscores the growing relationship between Esterline and Crane,” added Alain Durand, Esterline Group Vice President. “This is the third successful sensor suite integration solution combining the strengths of the two organizations.”
