Didier Nicoud Named Engineering Vice President of Aircelle

Effective November 1st, 2013, Didier Nicoud has been named Engineering Vice President for Aircelle (Safran) succeeding to Eric Massé who has taken another position within Safran. He directly reports to the CEO, Martin Sion.

Didier Nicoud, is an engineering graduate of Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique (France) and has pursued different management courses.

He started at Snecma in 1987 as aerodynamics’ engineer in charge of numerical methods development. Then he held the position of head of aerodynamics’ department for High pressure compressors and later on head of Fan and Booster design department. Early 2005 Didier Nicoud was named Chief Engineer in charge of the large Engines GE90 and GP7000 in cooperation with General Electric.

In 2008, he was transitioning to Turbomeca (Safran). He was appointed as deputy of the VP Engineering with the System Engineering responsibility. He was mostly in charge of the helicopter engine development and certification for the Helicopter Airframers as well as technical support for in-service engines.
