Dr. Martin Schmitt joins Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board

Dr. Martin Schmitt has been appointed to the Executive Board and as Labour Director at
Lufthansa Cargo, effective 1 January 2013. The 52 year-old manager and head of the Lufthansa
Corporate Personal Policy Division is to take over responsibility for Finance and Human
Resources on the Executive Board of the Lufthansa Cargo airfreight subsidiary. He succeeds
Peter Gerber, who moved to the Lufthansa German Airlines Board in June 2012.

Dr. Schmitt, who has a Ph.D in Law, was previously in charge of human resources for flight crews
at Lufthansa and, subsequently, Station Manager and Board Representative at the Munich hub.
He took over as head of the Corporate Personal Policy at Lufthansa AG in 2001.
