easyJet launched new flights to Sicily from Manchester Airport

easyJet, the UK’s biggest airline, has announced it will introduce a new route to Catania, Sicily from 30 March 2014.

The new route went on sale this morning at www.easyJet.com and will operate twice per week on Wednesdays and Sundays. easyJet is the only airline to offer a scheduled flight to Sicily from Manchester Airport and fares will start from £32.49* one way.

Catania is easyJet’s 34th destination from Manchester Airport and joins Venice as their second Italian destination. easyJet expects to carry over 15,000 passengers on the new route next summer which will operate with a 156 seater Airbus A319.

Ali Gayward, Commercial Manager for easyJet, said:
“We’re pleased to add Catania, Sicily to easyJet’s growing network of summer destinations from Manchester Airport. Earlier this year we added Venice to our North West network and it’s clear that Italy is rapidly becoming the destination of choice for travellers looking for a city break with culture, sun and great restaurants.”

Earlier this year easyJet introduced three new routes to Manchester Airport from Reykjavik, Moscow and Venice and now has eight aircraft permanently based at the site.
