easyJet, the UK’s largest airline is tomorrow (Saturday 16th April) launching its first route to Seville in Spain from its biggest base, London Gatwick.

The inaugural flight departs on Saturday morning and will fly four times weekly with fares starting from £39.99 (one way inc. taxes). It is the airline’s first route from the UK to the city.

Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK general manager, comments: “Seville is a beautiful and cultural Spanish city and by launching this route we’re making it more accessible and affordable for everyone.

“easyJet is the largest airline to fly from London Gatwick and the Seville route means we will now offer the choice of 92 destinations. This includes three more new routes which will be launching shortly to Izmir, Verona and Aberdeen providing even more choice to leisure and business travellers.”

Situated on the plain of the River Guadalquivir and more than 2, 000 years old, Seville boasts a wealth of historical and artistic landmarks including one of the largest medieval and Gothic cathedrals in Spain as well as being dubbed the country’s financial capital.

The airline currently has a fleet of 46 aircraft based at Gatwick, flying over 11 million passengers per year.

easyJet passengers will also benefit from increased flights to Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, Dusseldorf in Germany, Milan Linate in Italy and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
