etBlue Names David Campbell Vice President Technical Operations

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 01/21/14 — JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ: JBLU) today announces the appointment of David Campbell to the position Vice President, Technical Operations, effective immediately. In this role, Mr. Campbell will ensure efficient operations, manage the safety of the fleet and lead the airline’s technical operations team. Mr. Campbell will report directly to the airline’s senior vice president of operations, Jeff Martin.

“David’s technical expertise and extensive leadership experience are a perfect fit for JetBlue. He brings a wealth of safety, operational and regulatory experience to this key position. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow our network and fleet,” said Mr. Martin.

Mr. Campbell has more than 30 years of experience in line and staff positions in commercial and military aircraft operations. He joined American Airlines in 1988 as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and held several roles of increased responsibility, including Managing Director of Quality Assurance and Vice President Base Operations. He also held the position of Vice President, Technical Operations, and Chief Operating Officer at American Eagle. Mr. Campbell most recently served as Vice President of Safety and Operations Performance for American Airlines and oversaw the development and refinement of safety, security and environmental management systems as well as the regulatory relationships with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), National Transportation Safety Bureau (NTSB) and other agencies such as International Air Transport Association (IATA). He also led the operational planning and performance team including the systems operation control center, maintenance operational center, operational engineering and crew planning functions.

Mr. Campbell succeeds Dave Ramage, who will retire from JetBlue later this year after more than 10 years of service. Mr. Ramage will serve as an advisor to Mr. Campbell during this transition.

“I am excited to take on this challenging role,” said Mr. Campbell. “I look forward to providing a hands-on leadership style and ensuring the airline’s high standards of safety.”
