Africa-based low cost airline Fastjet (LON:FJET) has appointed Nick Caine as its new chief financial officer following the resignation of Angus Saunders for personal reasons.
Caine, who is currently chief financial officer of Fiji Airways, will take over on 11 August.
Ed Winter, interim chairman and chief executive of Fastjet, thanked Fraser and welcomed Caine, who he said had a strong track record in the aviation industry, particularly with airline start-ups.
At Fiji Airways he has been instrumental in returning the airline to profitability, securing financing for the new wide-body fleet and delivering significant cost savings, Winter said.
Caine added Fastjet was well on its way to becoming the continent’s first true pan-African carrier.
