Fastjet (LON:FJET) has confirmed it is in talks with Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou’s easyGroup Holdings over the company’s long term financing.
Sir Stelios was one of the budget African airline’s backers, since its inception in 2012.
Fastjet told investors in March that it had begun long-term funding talks. Now, this morning it confirmed easyGroup was among the investors participating in the talks.
“A further announcement regarding the outcome of this process will be made in due course,” the company said.
Fastjet established itself operating internal flights in Tanzania and recently began international flights, with a route between Dar es Salaam and Lusaka.
