fastjet Zimbabwe Extends A320 Operations Through December Peak

fastjet Zimbabwe will extend the deployment of an Airbus A320 following increased demand on its routes between Zimbabwe and Johannesburg.

The A320 entered the carrier’s operation on August 1, initially as additional capacity for the peak travel period in August and September. The aircraft has been serving the Harare-Johannesburg and Victoria Falls-Johannesburg routes.

Under the revised schedule, fastjet will retain the additional A320 capacity through the end of October before bringing the aircraft back into service for the December festive travel period.

The larger aircraft supplements fastjet Zimbabwe’s existing fleet and provides additional seats on two of its highest-demand international routes. The airline said traffic from both business and leisure passengers has supported the decision to extend the deployment.

The A320 has also been used to introduce fastjet’s Business Premium product, which includes additional baggage allowances, dedicated ground services and an upgraded onboard offering.

The extension gives fastjet additional capacity during two important demand periods without committing the airline to year-round A320 operations.
